I've got a S3 video card with the Trio64 chipset (Diamond
stealth + Video). This card worked fine until I added
16 more MB of ram, I took it from 8 to 24 and the card
quit working. About 1 time in 10 it'll come up and run
fine, otherwise it hangs up hard.

I tried turning off bounce buffers (I have a PCI SCSI controller)
but I also have an IDE controller (does it do DMA?). Nothing
seems to affect it. I know the X server maps the frame buffer
to 0xf8000000 but since that's well out of range of the new memory
I don't know what the problem could be....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob
