For several months now I have been plagued with serial port errors (silo
overflow) during hard disk accesses when running X11. They happen almost
every time I use Netscape or xv. Occasionally it cause my modem to drop the
line which is a real pain. I never seem to get any error when just using
virtual consoles or if there is no heavy disk access.

The sad part is I have over the last few months,

replaced my 486DX50 with an ASUS Pentium 100 motheboard
" " AST 4 port with the ASUS onboard serial port.
  " " 16MB 30 pin RAM with 32MB of 72 pin RAM
  " " Adaptec 1522A with a NCR53c810 PCI controller.
  " " Tseng et4000i with a S3 based PCI video car.
  " " Quantum 700 with a Quantum 850 SCSI drive.
  " " MouseSystems mouse with a LogiTech

The only original parts are the keyboard, monitor, case+power supply,
modem and X11R6, but the problem still occurs.

Am I looking at X11R6 bug?
Does this happen to anyone else?

- Ernie.
