Perhaps true, although he *did* say "or hosts file." In any case, if you 
want outside users to be able to recognize and access your site by any of 
these names, you will indeed have to contact your ISP, who will have to 
run your requested names through InterNIC to verify that they will be 
unique. (This will cost some $$$ -- InterNIC charges $100 for two years' 
registration, then $50 per year after that. Your ISP will be sure to pass 
this along to you, with a surcharge!)
