in DNS, there are 2 ways

parker  IN      A       206.9.159.17
ftp     IN      A       206.9.159.17

or

parker  IN      A       206.9.159.17
ftp     IN      CNAME   parker

artbbs.com is not a FQDN, but you can force the issue with
artbbs.com      IN      A       206.9.159.17

in hosts file

206.9.159.17    artbbs.com parker.artbbs.com ftp.artbbs.com parker ftp
