: Hi everyone,

: Hopefully this should be an easy one to answer!.

: I am using FreeBSD v2.1 with sendmail & the POP3 Mail server.

: users alias the mail will not find its way to the Postmaster.

I didn't try it myself, but it seems to me that
uncommenting OPPostmaster string in /etc/sendmail.cf
should help you.
Make sure that you have alias postmaster in /etc/aliases set to
some particular user, user postmaster in /etc/passwd

Don't forget to restart sendmail, or make it to reread the configuration file.

: ie. r~ss@astrac.com

: also how can I give a user a detailed e-mail ID. example:-

: currently:- russ@astrac.com would like to be:- russ.mills@astrac.com

put an alias russ.mills in /etc/aliases
(don't forget to run newalias after that)

: Thanks....
