I've seen the other followups, but only as a reminder: the original
papers about socket programming are part of any BSD as well.  They can
be found in ASCII and PostScript form under /usr/share/doc/psd/20.ipctut
and /usr/share/doc/psd/21.ipc.

Once you know how to write and debug C programs, you might perhaps
find these papers useful as a guide to socket network programming.
They are written by the same people who designed the socket IPC
interface.  (IPC == interprocess communication)
