PULL is a read.  PARSE is a general mechanism for extracting information from
a string (for PARSE PULL, a line of input) under control of a template.  The
"REXX Information" book doesn't give very much detail on its use *or* its
capabilities; I learned mostly by looking at other people's REXX scripts and
from long-disused memory of VM/SP REXX manuals.

Someone else ported it, just as IBM didn't do AREXX (the Amiga's stock
extension language).
