: Well, all the ``files'' up to /stand/ls aren't files, but only hard

There are actually two binaries in 2.1-RELEASE, one with 58 links at
802816 bytes and one with 17 links at 456940 bytes. The 'ls' link is
to the big one !

None I suspect - he was originally asking about COM ports (albeit in a
different thread). If you try again, wait a while. Assuming a bad
28800 connection (even with compression and all that) - ie, loosing packets
because of an intermediate "bad" connection, I get them from the UK to
Japan - don't give up for about 40 minutes. If that still doesn't work,
have a look on ALT-F4. If you've got a shell, have a look around in the
/mnt/stand directory. Check for a growing file....

If the ALT-F4 screen isn't there yet, you'll have to get an external modem
and check out the transmit/receive lights.

Personally, I've never gone this route. If your machine already has either
DOS or FreeBSD on it (or you have local access to a machine), download the
distribution first. Installations are a lot quicker !
