The BSD 2.1 release version cannot detect sio0. I have an internal
28.8 modem, which I was hoping to use to PPP the rest of BSD down with,
but alas, it can't find it.

I've seen other references to this problem, but no solutions mentioned.

I turned the debug flag on for sio0 (0x80), and it fails test 6.
Does this help? Is there a document describing the tests and failure
codes for typical hardware?

Thanks in advance.
