You forgot to configure your machine on the network (this problem has
gone away post 2.1, BTW - now it doesn't care if you don't do that).

Visit your /etc/sysconfig file and make the appropriate adjustments, or
the minimum uncomment the "myname.my.host" entries in /etc/hosts
(assuming that you're not actually on a network).
