I haven't had a hang after boot problem. I did have a hang during
boot problem. Mine would hang while probing for the PS/2 mouse.
A quick fix was to disable the psm.c device driver. I am currently
running an annotated version of psm.c that has some printf's in
the psmprobe function that does *not* hang! Take the printf's out
and it will hang for a couple of minutes then proceed. I just
haven't had the time to get back to working on it since I seem to
have an effective work around for the time being.

Note that the GENERIC kernel doesn't have the psm.c device driver
included, so unless you have rebuilt your kernel to include it your
problem shouldn't be this. There may be some other differences
(besides processor speed) between the 75MHz and 120MHz versions.
The 120 was released after the 75 and 90.

BTW, I haven't done anything with my power management settings.
They are still at their defaults. Also, I have successfully run
(sans the PS/2 mouse hang) 2.1R and 2.2-current (as of 05/15/96,
which is what I'm currently running).
