I have seen other requests for this.  I have spent a few hours doing
this on my computer at home.  I have had to make a few minor changes
because the stock installation procedure does not expect the systems
native compiler to be a GNU compiler.  None of it requires any great
wizardry, just some persistence.  I am willing to post the changes when
I get it finished.

If anyone has already done this, please say so and save me (and perhaps
others) the work.
