Further more you need to have your ATAPI CDROM plugged in as master. If you have a 
secondary IDE controller this is easy. In the other case. Put your IDE-HD as slave. 
You can't boot from it, but you can boot from your FBSD installfloppy. Once you have 
finnished installing FBSD2.1 you have to reconfigure the kernelconfig source and 
recompile the kernel to include the support for the atapi CDROM. You can only expect
a message when booting that the kernel does not reconize the atapi state of the cdrom 
drive. Everthing else works flawlessly. Well... I can't change CD's when booted. But
I can live with that.

O' yeah. There's a special bootflop image for atapi-support you should use for the installdisk...
