Yesterday I asked about a boot problem where I was getting a message:

: init FATAL error: console: Interrupted system call

Anyways I found the problem tonight. I was looking at one of the Dr.
Dobbs articles by Bill and Lynne, and I saw the comment that bootup
needs the kernel, init, /dev/console, and sh. I checked out those files
and then remembered that I had tried linking sh to bash. I removed that
link with the fixit disk and everything now boots fine.

So the moral of this should be that if you don't know what all the
results will be, don't fool with it, or face the consequences.
