I really would like to see this patch in FreeBSD and a patch for
input filter as well !

I have much trouble with this in apsfilter. If people for example
have a laser printer with a network card plugged in, then they
cannot use apsfilter without making ugly kludges, because of this
restriction.

I vote for more flexibility ;-)
