I didn't use it, but Freestone is available also.  It has a BSDI version 
that may work.  But, as I said, I did not compile it.  I went with the 
CERN http server.  It offered all I needed.  But it does not have a 
telnet proxy.  I didn't need one though.  I use the inherent firewall of 
the fact that the box does not route as a firewall, rather than any thing 
fancy.  It does proxy http, ftp, gopher, and wais.  Works fine for me.

If you find a working full featured proxy/firewall (meaning including 
telnet) let me know.
