I was wondering if anyone could suggest a course of action. I am a
rookie at Unix and have recently installed Freebsd on my computer. My
hard drive is partitioned. I have Windows 95 on the C drive partition
and Freebsd on the other partition. The size of my hard drive is 696 MB
with cylinders/heads/sectors of 1416/16/63 (thats what it reads in my
CMOS setup). However when I go to install Freebsd, the disk geometry is
set at 708 32 63. I used this setting and installed Freebsd, and when I
go to bootup I select Freebsd at bootup and it shows

>> FreeBsd Boot...Use hd(1,a)...

|
that's it and can't see my hard drive running.

So I went in the and changed the disk geometry to 1416/16/63 and did a
install. This time at bootup when I select freebsd. My system again
freezes but I dont get

>> Freebsd Boot..Use hd(1,a)... etc.

But my hard drive is running continuously.

So I tried using the pfdisk utility and it showed my disk geometry as
707/32/63. I tried this setting with same results. Any suggestions?
