I am looking for help with LEX and YACC. Forgive me if this is not
the appropriate group for posting. I could not find news groups for
lex and yacc.

Recently, we ported the AT&T version of LEX and YACC to the OS1100/2200
mainframe. Since the original code for LEX and YACC came from AT&T and
we had no hand in developing it, we discovered we do not have sufficient
test base to test the ported code and its integrity.

The books (many of them) we are using, have some simple examples that do
not do much more than a small calculator program and other similar stuff.
We have no prior experience with Lex and Yacc and WE NEED YOUR HELP.

I am looking for function (black box) tests that meet the following
criteria. However, I'll take any test and evaluate it according to
our needs.

1- Test programs that would exercise as much code as possible.

2- Tests that hit on as many areas in the code as possible.

3- Tests that would specificaly address portability issues.

4- Documentation that explain these test program examples.

5- The exact output (captured in a canned file) or documentation
    of expected output.

6- Ideas on how to test the ported code.

Please specify the machine type your test is run on.
We are very short on time, so it is an important factor.

Please reply via private mail if possible:
                                              amin@rsvl.unisys.com

Thank you very much.

Amin Kassem.
