Well, I'm no SCSI expert, so I can't say anything about your problems. I
just wanted to say that I ran a Viper 150 just fine with FreeBSD 2.0,
2.0.5 and 2.1. However I used an active terminator ...

Hardware: 486DX2/66, ASUS SP3 (NCR810), intern: 1GB Seagate, HP35480,
extern: 2 GB DEC, Toshiba 3301 (only SCSI devices, IDE disabled). HD's:
10 MB/s synchron, CD, DAT, Viper: 5 MB/s synchron.

WIth a passive terminator, the SCSI bus reseted as soon as I wrote to
one of the tapes. But there are no problems so far with an active
terminator.
