I appologize about for posting incorrect information.  I finally found
out the problem.  It is the Intel PCI ethernet card that just dies.
I suspect the driver is not very mature yet.  Somehow it worked halfway
through when I was using an 850MB drive when I decided to abort the
installation.

I have put in a 3COM 3c509 and installation in coming along just fine.

Wow ! 8MBytes/sec, I cant wait to start using the new drive.  My only concern
is the Intel PCI, I was very exciting about this also, but it doesn't seem to
be working well for me.  Is it for anybody else ?
