Hi!

I just installed 2.1R on a new machine, a HP Netserver with 133 Pentium and
a PCI/EISA motherboard. The SCSI-Controller in a twin AIC 7770 onboard
controller.

The system booted without any problems from the boot floppy, I installed the
system from CD. After this, I sup'ed -stable (took 5 hours) and did
a "make world"... again, no problems. After this, I made a new kernel
(took the _new_ GENERIC and removed everything I don't need).

After installing the news kernel, machine doesn't boot any more. The
SCSI-controller is no longer detected. I booted the old kernel.GENERIC and
made a new GENERIC from the sup'ed config file. Unfortunately, this
kernel doesn't boot, either. There are no boot messages about detecting
any SCSI-controller or devices, so mounting / failed. I added
"prompt PROBE_VERBOSE" to the config-file, but gained no additional
information.

Ideas, anyone?

Martin
