Hi All,

I'm trying to decide on some hardware to run my new FreeBSD system,
and I've looked for a real HW compat. list, but I haven't found one
yet. I FTP'd the FAQ from freebsd.org, and while it mentioned SCSI
HBAs, network cards, and some other stuff, there are a few items I
would like to get recomendations on...

First, the video. I don't need a really high end card. I'm looking
for a decent PCI SVGA card to run X. I'd like to keep the price down
to $150.00 or less. I'm looking into getting an Adaptec 2940UW, but
I've heard lots horror stories about getting these to work with ATI
video.

Second, the motherboard, or at least chipsets. I'm looking for a
Pentium 120-133. I want a PCI board with the common I/O ports , and
dual IDE (I'm also planning to run Win95 on this system). I have seen
the Intel Atlantis, but I'm worried about the onboard ATI video (see
above).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Mark Levy
