I still don't see why tcpdump is useless for you (and i wrote you in
private mail that i'm actually using it for exactly this purpose), but
anyway, since Linux seems to have invented something that is just
Linux only (your first message: ``I tried to compile the sources, but
there's a special Linux socket type called PACKET which doesn't exist
in FreeBSD.''), i doubt you will have the chance to get it working on
*BSD (nor on SunOS nor on ...).
