FreeBSD is regularly published on CD by Walnut Creek CDROM (who are
also hosting the development environment).

I think NetBSD as well as FreeBSD are published on the BSDisc by
InfoMagic, too.

Not directly.

However, there are ABI emulators for various platforms available. I
can't speek for NetBSD (but i seem to remember that they at least
emulate Linux and most likely also FreeBSD ABIs), i know that FreeBSD
has a Linux and an iBCS2 (SVR3 UNIX/intel binary compatibility
standard) emulator, though their functionality in the latest release
version is, ehm, limited.

I absolutely don't know what Linux can emulate, but i think at least
iBCS2.

I'm certainly biased, but i think FreeBSD is the easiest to install.
Stability-wise, i doubt they differ much.
