Well, the multimedia@freeBSD.org mailing list was formed with the
idea of having both applications and systems types to work closely
together to develop applications. Cool things have come out it,
like PCI-TO-PCI data transfer for live video. Cool hacks on
"tv" a program which I wrote and then later on modified by
a few people. tv can take snapshots of live pictures or 
raw video recording, etc... The FreeBSD Mbone hackers hang
out on the multimedia mailing list and he have such things
such as sdr, vat, vic, etc... There are other projects
dealing with X10. What we do need is a group of people willing
to write apps 8)
