Indeed, there is a problem with the sio3 addresses, but many other
chipsets use those addresses too (S3, for example). The difference
is that the other videocards that use address 0x2e8 only enable that
address when for example the X server sets the graphical mode. That's
why they don't have problems with the sio probing.

Nonetheless, it's rather easy and straightforward to work around this
problem if you look at the FAQs. In regular use I think the cards provide
very good value for the money, especially when they are used with 2 MB
DRAM. There is no need to run away from those cards for use with FreeBSD.
