I have been trying find a way to backup a FreeBSD machine from
NT using Arcada backup software for quite some time, but haven't
found a solution. Recent email exchange with Arcada/Seagate
(for those who dont know Arcada got bought by Seagate), revealed
that they will relase an Arcada agent for Linux.FreeBSD only if
enough peolpe ask for it.

So if you need to backup your FreeBSD or Linux machines from
NT using Arcada or you are planning a setup where you may need
something like that, please send email to : Support@smg.seagate.com
and let them know.

They are very nice people and usually reply within 24 hours. They
just need to be convinced that there is enough need for such a thing.
Tell them, we'll happily live with beta releases if thats what they
can do for now.

It may only take them a recompile after all on one of these machine.
I have even offered setting up a test machine for them to try and
compile it on if they dont want the hassles of setting up a FreeBSD
machine.

Thanks.
