SAY WHAT?

Yes I did say pick. If anybody knows of a flavor of Pick that
runs on FreeBSD please let me know.

This is what do I know. JAC has a ELF Linux version that you can
download for the cost of filling out an online survey.
(http://www.jac.com/ as I recall) Its called jBase and runs on
winnt/95 and just about every flavor of commercial version of
Unix out.

I have been trying to convince them to port it over at least to
BSDi ... *sigh*

jBase takes pick basic code and converts it to c/c++ source -
all in the background all the while maintaining a pick like
environment or "front end" (I use that term Very loosely!)

I have 85 gadzillion lines of pick basic spagettii code that
will never get untangled - so I at least need to put it in an
envirnoment that more open.

I can honestly say I havn't tried linux - FreeBSD seems to have
a "commerial upgraded route" after proof of concept games are
played out - in BSDi. That term "Commercially Supported" doesn't
do anything for me but my bosses (whats a web server? and chant
"microsoft") use that as one of their MAJOR selection factors.

I have been very happy about the stability and rock solid
performance with my FreeBSD 2.1.

any clues?

TIA
