I have FreeBSD 2.1.0-R, and am trying to print postscript files to an
Okidata OL610e/PS printer.

The problem is when I try to use the lpd spooler. If I do the following:

	cat file.ps > /dev/lpt0

the printer will print the file. If I try to send a print job to the
printer via lpr, I get errors on the printer LED console, and nothing
happens.

I am pretty sure the parallel port is bi-directional, which is required,
according to the Okidata documentation.

Has anyone successfully set up one of these printers? If so, can you
send me or post the section of your /etc/printcap file that deals with
that port? Or, can you point me to readme's or other docs on how to get
this beastie working?

Thanks!
