I think those earlier posts were referring to the Speedstar 24 -- not the
24X.  The 24 uses the ET4000 chipset, but the 24X uses a different chipset
which I'm told is a descendant of the PVGA chipset.  I have no idea if
it is close enough to PVGA1 to work with XFree86 (looks like it isn't).

(Can you send me the output the server produces when you try to run it?)
