Assuming you mean 2.1R it does not have builtin APM support. A
couple of FreeBSD hackers from Japan are very busy with getting APM
support into the next FreeBSD release. There is currently a patchkit
that you can use for 2.1R or -current(??) to get alpha/beta quality
APM support into your kernel.
