: BSD/OS UUCP is derived from "UUNET UUCP", which Rick Adams commissioned
: and which UUNET makes available in source form to their customers. The
: intent of this version of UUCP was to recreate "BSD UUCP" without any V7

Reader's Digest version:

Use Taylor UUCP. It supports a lot more protocols and it's probably a
bit more efficient and robust than honeydanber uucp. It builds without
incident on 1.0 and 2.0.1 (and FreeBSD 2.0.5 and 2.1). I gave one of
my downstream sites an exact copy of the latest Taylor code that I'm
running and it also compiled on their Sparc 2 (which I think is running
one of the later SunOSen). When I upgrade to 2.1 (for 100mbit ethernet
support) I'll be sure to post any difficulties/solutions to getting
Taylor running on that rev (though I suspect it'll be a no-brainer based
on previous experience). Last I checked, Taylor was up to v1.0.6.

Chris
