The FreeBSD project has currently dropped its SPARC port, even though it
kinda worked and was certainly capable of being turned into a real
release, due to general lack of time and interest. This is not to say
that such a thing wouldn't be useful to some people, but there are only
so many hours in the day and for us to add value to the SPARC/BSD world
(which isn't already provided by NetBSD) would take quite a bit of
effort. At the minimum it would be necessary for us to provide "install
from scratch" functionality as well as a boot CD for installation from
CDROM. Lots of work, very little return in comparison to what the same
amount of effort invested in the Intel platform buys us.
