Well I received a pointer to a package now called cdda2wav which
is a Linux package which will read CDDA (Compact Disk Digital Audio)
from the CDROM and write out WAV files to disk.  The documentation
gives lots of background information on the issues involved and the
software looks great.  As far as I can see there is no existing port
to FreeBSD though.  :(

Is anyone using cdda2wav under FreeBSD?  Is any one working on it?

I may try to port it myself but a half hour today show that this won't
be trivial.
