I am using a same drive just fine. If you are trying to coexit 386BSD
and DOS, then this problem is a FAQ (I think you can find FAQ at
agate). You should specify the real geometry parameters of the ALPS
drive in BIOS setup. Try the following: 

  No. of cylinders:       2108
  No. of heads:              4
  No. of sectors par track: 49
