I'm gonna have to disagree with you. The free Unix comunity while small is
still a good size. Big enough that if 10% boycotted Matrox product they
would notice. Lets do the numbers.

A Matrox MGA Millenium PCI with 2 meg of ram (the card in question) goes
for about $315.00. I just randomly flipped though the new copy of Computer
shopper so that is not the best price but it will due. Now I have no idea
what the markup is for video cards but for the sake of argument lets say
its 100% so the wholsale cost is $157.50.

Now, lets assume that there are 500,000 users in the free UNIX comunity. so
10% of that is 50,000. 50,000 times $157.50 is $7,875,000.00.

I don't know what Matrox gross sales were last year but considering the slim
profit margins that most manufactures are working with $7.8 million could
be the difference between a proft and a loss for Matrox.

So, if 10% of the free UNIX comunity were to boycott Matrox and told them
why I thing Matrox would reconsider their position.
