I installed from an ATAPI IDe CD ROM with a lot of futzing around. The
final answer was in where I installed it and with what hard drive. I
mounted it as the second drive on the primary port and got it to work,
but nowhere else, and for some wierd reason, one on my old hard drives (a
120M Samsung) just plain _wouldn't_ work and actually i8nterfered with
having any second drive. It's now doing a fine job of holding down a
pile of paper on my desk while my 540M Maxtor is holding FreeBSD on my
machine.
