Subject: Venix Installation Code Now Available
Date: 11 Feb 1996 20:47:54 GMT

Jon Schepis of VenturCom has kindly released the installation code
algorithm for installing Venix 1.0 and 2.0 on the DEC PRO 350/380.

I have copied the package to a tar file and posted it on anonymous
FTP on ftp.museent.org in the pub/bkort directory. There is a
brief README file and the venix.tar file.

I compiled the 'proacc' algorithm on my VAX, and it works fine.
If you are installing Venix and you have no platform to run the
'proacc' utility on, send me E-Mail with your Venix XFER diskette
serial number and the machine code, and I will run the algorithm
for you. If someone wants to post the entire Venix distribution
package, be sure to include this package, or instructions on how
to retrieve it.

I have now uploaded TeleDisk images of the Venix 1.0 and Venix 2.0
installation RX50 floppies as venix1.zip and venix2.zip archives.

Find them in ftp://ftp.musenet.org/bkort/

Read the README file there and snarf the appropriate package for
your model DEC PRO machine.

Use PKUNZIP on your DOS machine to unpack the zip archives into
TeleDisk *.TD0 images, then use TeleDisk to create RX50 floppies
from the images.

Enjoy!
