Daring to challenge the will of the almighty Leviam00se, Robert Withrow
(bwithrow@baynetworks.com) had the courage to say:

: I counted a mfs file system (Fbsd2.1) on /mnt, copied some stuff
: to it, and then unmounted it. At that point my system hung.
: Is this a know problem?

Well if it wasn't a known problem before, it is now. :)

The MFS support still has some lurking bugs, I'm sure. That aside, I have
been using it successfully on my machine at home as a replacement for /tmp.
Basically, I've mounted my swap partition as a tmpfs on /tmp. Note
however that once I do that, I _never_ umount it. (So far I haven't had
to.)

I've had my machine up for 60+ days at a time with this configuration
(last time I rebooted, it was because XFree86 clobbered my console :).

This is with both FreeBSD 2.1.0 and 2.0.5.
