While i agree with the date of appearance (as already posted else-
where), i seem to remember that i ran the first 386BSD 0.0 on just a
386/16 with 4 MB RAM.  I've upgraded to 6 MB later in the game (the 4
MB machine was also running ISC before, and i've been really surprised
about the stability of FFS compared to the ISC SysV file system).

Of course, it wasn't everebody's favorite to dedicate an entire disk
to the system -- i didn't have a moral problem with banning MSDOS onto
the second disk however (and booting it from a floppy). :)
