: Try to use Firewall proxy ... I think it's include all that u need .

howdy.

something like socks requires that the application be
socks-i-fied. in this case, i need to get packets
from an old symbolics lisp machine thru the internet,
and so socks-i-fication isn't an option. (unless i understand
	whats in socks5-beta, it won't do - but i ain't an expert)

	freebsd is the gateway -
is there another firewall proxy program that could handle this?

linux vs fbsd: not a war here! i'll use linux if i have to,
and it is certainly a respectable os. howerver, i'm a died in the
wool freebsd'r. i run big applications, and the last time i tried
linux if fell over (a long time ago... - its probably much better now)

these suggestions have been helpfull, and
	i'd appreciate any-others!
