It's solid enough to run linux doom and the linux verision

:It's rather poor. Nobody with the required amount of time, interest,

Actually there are a couple of dedicated people going through it
at the moment, and they clai to have found some of the problems.

:There's no future release planned yet (i.e., there are no estimations

:whether it will be 2.2 containing all the newly developed things.

to make things clearer.. Ther eisn't a fixed DATE for the next release though
there will BE one. In fact the re wil be at least TWO upcoming releases
that are being worked on. The next will probably be release 2.1.1
which will be a 'stability' release, with not a lot of extra functionality
from 2.1, but bug-fixes and changes NEEDED to kep it useful to a
broad audience.
At some later time there will be 2.2 which will contain many new
(and potentially destabilising) changes. 2.2 wil probaby come out
in conjunction with a snapshot of the stability version at that time
so that people can back-down to the stable version.

Dates ar not se for either of those yet.
