I read through the FreeBSD Handbook and the FAQ which came with my Walnut Creek FreeBSD CD Rom January '96 but I somehow was not able to come up with a definitive answer how to mount the first partition on my first IDE disk, which happens to be a "big" (>=32M,it says) DOS partition.

I would like to auto-mount this partition at boot-time. As I have just
switched from Linux where I adhered to this scheme to FreeBSD which
seems to handle the mounting of drives a little bit different (how do
I actually find out which device has been allocated to the DOS
partition ? fdisk does not seem to proivide this information ?) I
would like to get some hints from someone who has solved this
beginners' problem.
