Yes.  However, it has been patched a bunch since the release to avoid
most of the problems.   If you can get the -stable version of the
sources, you should have much better luck with stability.  Just grab the
stuff out of /usr/src/usr.sbin/ppp, rebuilt and install it and you
should be set.
