I have FreeBSD 2.1 running on my machine. Before anyone tells me to buy a
book and take a class, I am doing both currently.

I want to get ppp or slip, preferably ppp, working so I can dial into my ISP.
I know all of the settings. I am not an idiot, just new to UNIX.

Secondly, I would like to install some programs, JPG/MPG viewers, FTP server
Stuff etc. How exactly do I do this. I have the makefiles for some, but Iget
the impression I have to be logged in through UNIX, refer to question #1. Can
Anyone help please.

Thank you in advance.
