Which version of FreeBSD ?

It is definitely present in FreeBSD-2.1R,
the current CDROM version ...

Your problem report wasn't really detailed.
(Well, we now know how much you spent on those
systems, but that doesn't help understand what
is going wrong.)

Please tell about which PCI devices, if any,
are found. (Enter "-v" at the "Boot: " prompt
for verbose boot messages.)

What's the chip set in those systems ? (Not, by 
chance, a Compaq TriFlex ?)
