Summary: cannot get boot manager installed on IDE drive

I'm brand new to BSD and am having trouble getting the boot manager onto
my hard disk. Here's what I have..

IDE Primary master - Win95
IDE Primary slave - Linux
IDE Secondary master ATAPI CD-ROM
IDE Secondary slave - BSD

I go through the novice install and everything looks fine. After the
system reboots I find that the Linux loader is still on my boot drive.

Is there a way to boot BSD from a floppy so I can get into it and then
get it configured?
Or A) just use a floppy to install the boot manager
   B) use the Linux loader to start BSD

Thanks.
