At home I connect my FreeBSD box into the net using my Netcruiser account.

If you look at the netcuiser web site FAQ area for the hints on using
trumpet winsock you can sort of derive what you need to do (so its not
top secret stuff :-) )

You put a "#" character at the start of your username to indicate that you
want a PPP connection via Netcruiser.

My options file has:

crtscts
modem
noipdefault
passive
domain ix.netcom.com
defaultroute

You chat script would look like this:

"" ATDTxxxyyyy ogin: #username word: xyzzy

Good luck!
