I am attempting to install FreeBSD on a 486 with two ide drives,
one of which is 200 meg, and the other, which is 1 gig. What is the
best way to set up the disk partitioning if I want to use about 400
meg for dos, and the remainder with FreeBSD? My bios does support
large drives, above the 528 meg limit for dos. Dos fdisk, however
will not access anything above about 500 meg on the second drive.
Drive specs for the large drive are as follows in cmos setup:
2,100 cylenders, 16 heads, 63 sectors, for 1,083 meg. Any help would
be appreciated. Thanks. Please respond by email to dw@vcsnet.com.
