comp.unix.bsd.bsdi.announce
---------------------------

What is BSD/OS?
BSD/OS is a commercial Unix-like operationg system based on the
UCB-developed BSD4.4-lite kernel. It is sold by Berkely Software
    Design, Inc.

What about BSD/386?
BSD/OS was previously called BSD/386; the old name is no longer used
    for the current version.

What's this about the "BSDI Internet Server"?
BSDI is now marketing BSD/OS as the BSDI Internet Server, given its
suitability to this task. In the end, though, BSDI Internet Server
    is still BSD/OS.

Where can I find out more about BSDI and BSD/OS?
    Here are the contacts:

    Web:	http://www.bsdi.com/
    FTP:	ftp://ftp.bsdi.com/
    Email:	bsdi-info@bsdi.com

    Telephone:	1-719-594-9445
    Toll-free:	1-800-800-4BSD
    Fax:	1-719-593-4238

What is comp.unix.bsd.bsdi.announce?
This is a moderated news group for announcing anything related
to Berkeley Software Design Inc.'s BSD/OS operating system. All
articles are subject to editing or rejection.

What articles are appropriate and acceptable?
Typical postings include software/hardware releases or updates, new
BSD/OS-related Internet resources, new software ports and new uploads
    to ftp sites.

For the most part, postings should generally not exceed 100 lines in
length. There are obvious exceptions and if you think you have
one, please submit the article for consideration.

What is unacceptable?
Discussion, marketing materials without technical content, job
    openings, opinions and rumours.

Can I post by email?
Yes; email your submissions directly to bsdi-info@metrics.com.

Is there a mailing list?
At the moment, no. If there is sufficient demand, though, one will
    be created.

Are postings archived anywhere?
They are available by anonymous ftp at ftp://ftp.metrics.com/archive/.
A web archive is planned, but is not yet available.
